Airport Lounge Food & Beverage Offering of the Year Co-Winner
080 Lounge by TFS, Bengaluru, India
At 080 Lounge, Travel Food Services has delivered a “beautifully considered” drinking and relaxing spaces to suit every mood, from working with a coffee between flights to relishing an evening cocktail on a stopover. Every bar and dining space has been designed with the luxurious old-school glamour of a steam train in mind and the staff are dressed to match in brass-buttoned suits.
The commitment to sustainability and using locally sourced ingredients is commendable and the live theatre aspect of some of the open kitchens adds a pleasant experience for travellers dining here. The menu options are rich in local and international culture, highly inventive, presented as works of art and comforting. Diners can choose from brightly coloured starters including salt-baked beets or chevre cheese & pecans, and main dishes such as Japanese rice crisp crushed fresh asparagus, coconut soup, gochujang chicken with toasted sesame and braised lamb shank with panko-crusted tomatoes.
If there is room for dessert, mango and passion fruit with whipped mascarpone is among several stand-out options.
