Airport Restaurant Design of the Year Co-Winner
Fendi Caffe, Qatar Duty Free, Hamad International Airport

Qatar Duty Free Senior Vice President Thabet Musleh accepts the Design Award for Fendi Caffe at Hamad International Airport
Among the impressive range of firsts introduced at Hamad International Airport (HIA) over the past year and more, the first-ever Fendi Caffe at an airport stands out among the highlights.
It sits close to the eye-catching Fendi duplex boutique, and forms a key element in the offer at HIA’s expansion revealed in November 2022.
Fendi Caffe offers diners a wide selection of fusion, local and Italian flavours. For something light, a selection of pastries and paninis are on display while customers can order from the all-day breakfast, main courses, or salads.
A beverage menu to suit every season and mood complements the fine selection of food including tea, fresh juices, mocktails and coffee with a signature FF logo cappuccino served in a porcelain cup decorated with Fendi’s signature Pequin striped motif.
The design was heavily inspired by Fendi’s Fall 2022 collection, featuring the distinctive O’Lock motif and the brand’s signature yellow. The open space café adds a pop of colour to The Orchard, the central focus on the terminal expansion.
Accompanying the eatery is the Fendi Bar, a kiosk-inspired setup featuring a yellow and white striped canopy with marble countertops.
The Roman fashion house has a distinct presence with a duplex boutique and eatery that are designed to deliver a full luxury experience.
From food to furniture to fashion, Fendi’s signature yellow, Pequin motif and logo are incorporated throughout the spaces to blend the eatery with the boutique, offering travellers an opportunity to shop, eat and drink the Fendi brand – all part of what Qatar Duty Free describes as a “premium culinary journey”.
