Airport Food Hall of the Year (Landside)

The Food Hall – Finavia Corporation, Helsinki Airport Arrivals Hall

Finavia Vice President/Director Commercial Business Nora Immonen collects Helsinki Airport’s accolade for Airport Food Hall of the Year (landside)

The Food Hall at Helsinki Airport was developed with a key goal in mind – to bring downtown culinary experiences to the airport.

It opened in May 2022 to serve a growing traveller base and their expanding needs. With an up-to-date food offering, new restaurant operators, six kitchens plus fast, efficient delivery, the Food hall has become the leading venue for passengers as well as employees at the airport.

Through partner Wolt Food Delivery Service, the Food Hall also services nearby residential areas.

The concepts represent both local and international street food cuisines with pure Finnish berries, flavoury European & Middle East treats and spicy Asian dishes.

The concepts importantly also stand for affordability and speed of service and all dishes can be eaten-in or taken away. Crucially, too, a flexible operating model fosters collaboration also with smaller businesses in the region.

Strong consumer interest has been driven by marketing activities led by Finavia’s digital channels. In the opening period, Finavia partnered with well-known Finnish influencers who tested the Food Hall and created social media content.

With this award, Finavia is living up to its tag line of creating ‘an attractive food destination in the heart of the airport ecosystem’.
