Highly respected SSP America Deputy CEO Pat Murray was honoured with the Outstanding Career Contribution to the Airport Food & Beverage Industry Award.
SSP America Deputy CEO Pat Murray, a much-admired leader in the world of travel F&B, was visibly moved as he collected the Outstanding Career Contribution Award, amid a rapturous standing ovation from admiring industry colleagues and friends.
Murray was singled out as a “pioneer” for his ability to pre-empt trends, forge successful global partnerships and for his “extraordinary commitment” to not only the SSP roles that he has held for 16 years, but also to the industry at large. He was also praised for his generous sharing of time and expertise to staff at all levels.

Previewing the announcement, MC Dermot Davitt hailed the recipient as an innovator in the sector, saying: “We have made several such awards to people whose paths through and leadership in the industry have resonated positively not just within their own organisations but across the airport and travel dining community.
“This person is no different. In their day job they manage business development, brand & concept development, airport partnerships and much more – and this individual has long done so as an innovator and as a pioneer.”
A long-committed advocate for ‘taste of place’, Murray was also praised as an early adopter of the concept and for leading his teams through COVID with passion, strength and encouragement.
